Professor Han Jiaying: design practice X culture context

Professor Zhang Yue’s lecture is themed “Tentacle of Technology”. In his lecture, he said “decoration” is not just to decorate something. That is decoration is not only something about art but also something about technology. Technology always bring in new materials and new tools, which will push forward the development of art. Professor Zhang Yue presented lots of newest high technologies in China, like instant shape of 3D print and application of carbon-fiber products etc. All students there were shocked and greatly impressed. Mr. Zhang hoped that students can focus more about technology and they can know about both art and technology. This is also the requirement of the future market.

Professor Zhang Yue: Tentacle of Technology

Professor Liang Jianguo put forward that easterners are the ones who are the best good at observing the nature and absorbing art nutrition from the nature. Then easterners can make products by combing the nature, life, art and technology. Mr. Liang also shared some photos which inspired his design a lot.
