Dalia Gallico
Professor Dalia Gallico is the President of the School of Architecture and Industrial Design of the San Raffaele University of Rome, and President of the Degree in Fashion and Design. She is the owner of a research company, providing consultancy for companies and institutional bodies in various design-oriented sectors; clients include the local government of Milan and the Ministry of Culture.
She is the President of the Signumlab, and also the former President and Coordinator for the ADI Lombardia, responsible for the ADI Design Index and publications on the triennial Compasso d’ Oro, an Industrial Design award.
She was involved in the renovation project of the Sforza Castle in 1998 and the preliminary design of the Capital of Fashion (98-99). She devised and also coordinated the efforts in the master’s degree programs as well as the higher education courses for the National Chamber for Italian Fashion from 1998 to 2005. She taught from 2001 through to 2010 at the School of Design of the Polytechnic University of Milan. Her main field of research includes conceptual design, trend research and new design solutions.
The Tourist Information System designed, carried through and completed by her, won the first prize at the competition Federcultura 2003.
Since 2004, she has been the director of the master’s degree program Policies of Made in Italy at the Academy of Communication, Milan, organising events and seminars among companies and institutions.
Since 2005, she has been the art director of the Royal Palace of Milan, Modern Art Gallery, Rotonda della Besana, and Palace of Reason.
She has never ceased to conduct international research, looking into new possibilities in every field and discipline.
